About Masters Athletics Federation of India

  The Masters Athletics Federation of India (also referred to as MAFI) is the apex body for running and managing athletics for Indian Athletes 35 years of age and above who are called as masters’ athletes. MAFI functions in India as the sole representative of Asia Masters Athletics (AMA) and World Masters Athletics (WMA). MAFI is an autonomous organisation which functions according to its set constitution and bylaws. MAFI is an independent federation in India and will not be a part of or under the purview of any other organization or federation in India. 

Masters Athletics Federation of India obliges to the Laws that require the officials, athletes and office bearers to uphold the "spirit of the sport". MAFI too, plays a significant role in protecting the spirit and integrity of sports through the efforts of our Anti-Racism, Anti-Doping program and our commitment to ensuring doping and racism has no place in the master's athletics.

MAFI is for NO-Racism in sports and will educate the individual athletes, members to shun racism in sports and campaign to eliminate racism, discrimination and intolerance from sports by also sending out clear messages. The MAFI anti-doping campaign works towards eliminating doping/drugs from our life style and focus on promoting Health & Longevity among all athletes and associates

The World of Sports functions in harmony with the Pyramid system where in we have the World Governing Body, Asian Governing Body, National Governing Body, State Bodies and District Bodies. Now the Masters Athletics Federation of India is legally in line with the required affiliations and functions as the sole representative of World Masters Athletics (WMA) / Asian Masters Athletics (AMA) in India and WMA/AMA gives affiliation to only one National Governing Body in each country, which in India is MAFI.

“Intellectual Property” means all rights and goodwill in copyright works, names, trademarks, service marks, devices, logos, designs, patents, processes etc. The Masters Athletics Federation of India (MAFI) is the sole holders of their intellectual property rights including the abbreviation “MAFI”. Mr. D. David Premnath the present Secretary General of MAFI has filed and secured the Intellectual Property Rights. MAFI will be forced to take legal action against any individual or Organisation which infringes its intellectual property rights.
